Searching the Pendleton Court Docket
No current Pendleton municipal docket portal was found. The former Pendleton Town Court was abolished effective December 31, 2023. A current Pendleton search must follow the court printed on the citation, notice, or case number rather than begin with the legacy town court.
- Read the court name and full case or citation number on the newest paper.
- Open Indiana MyCase and search the Case tab.
- If no number is known, search the Name tab and narrow to a current Madison court.
- Open the CCS and compare its court, status, settings, and newest entries.
- Call the Madison County Clerk when a legacy identifier or post-2023 venue remains unclear.
MyCase accepts a case number, citation number, or cross-reference number. Official tips permit a second case-number attempt without hyphens or leading zeroes. A broad name search should be narrowed by court, status, and filing dates.
If a search returns more than 1,000 matches, MyCase will not provide the full set. Add a middle name, current court, status, or short filing range. The sounds-like option can help with spelling, while a trailing wildcard finds names that start with typed letters. Those two features cannot be combined. Compare case numbers and captions carefully before opening a Pendleton-related result.
Pendleton Town Court Closed
The state Odyssey list preserves Pendleton Town Court as a legacy entry, but official research records its abolition at the end of 2023. That history matters because an older Pendleton docket can still display a town-court code. It does not make the former venue a current court for a new citation.
Post-2023 check: Use the issuing court and current case caption. Do not route a new matter solely from an old Pendleton code.
A converted case can retain its original number and event history. If MyCase does not resolve the venue, provide the full legacy number to the Madison County Clerk instead of changing the prefix.
Pendleton Municipal Court Basics
Pendleton does not have a current municipal court or separate court-search portal in the official sources reviewed. No current town-court phone, public terminal, docket form, or online court-payment route was located. This is a source-bound access finding, not a claim that no Pendleton resident can have a court matter.
Current Pendleton matters can be filed or routed in a Madison County Circuit division, another named issuing court, or a different system based on the case. The town's community and government pages do not become court databases simply because the event arose within town limits.
Pendleton Docket Community Context
INDOT's 2020 population table lists Pendleton at 4,717, fourth among the five Madison County communities profiled for this project. The official county profile traces local roots to 1818 and highlights Falls Park and community information. Those facts identify the place, not the court that owns a record.
A city name in a party address, police narrative, or caption is not always the court name. Venue must come from the actual case header.
Court Dates and Settings in Pendleton
The Indiana Hearing Calendar covers six Madison Circuit divisions in the inspected participation response. It did not expose a current Pendleton court. Search by required date, Madison County, and the Circuit division shown in MyCase. The available window runs from seven days in the past through four weeks ahead.
| Date and time | The scheduled session and displayed time zone. |
|---|---|
| Case number | A link from CourtCal to the MyCase case record. |
| Court | The current Madison Circuit division responsible for the setting. |
| Judge | The judicial officer listed for the scheduled event. |
| Setting type | The hearing description, which does not prove the event occurred. |
Read later CCS rows for a reset, continuance, vacated date, completed hearing, or order. Call the Clerk if the online sources conflict.
A calendar entry is a planned event, not proof of attendance or a ruling. The CCS can show a later entry, and the order may be a separate public document. CourtCal's short window is not a historical archive. For a hearing beyond that range, review MyCase and contact the current court. No Pendleton-specific reminder service or printed daily town calendar was found in the reviewed sources.
Pendleton MyCase Public Accounts
Most public Pendleton case information can be searched without a registered account. A verified public account can connect eligible users to added access authorized for a party, but it does not open sealed or excluded records to everyone.
The official MyCase public-account page appears in the assigned capture.
The image supports the difference between a public search and account-based access tied to an eligible case participant.
Traffic Tickets in Pendleton
Read the issuing court on a Pendleton traffic ticket before selecting any portal. The official Online Ticket Payment tool can search eligible matters by UTT number, driver-license number, or name and date of birth. Eligibility to pay online is not proof that the ticket belongs to a Pendleton municipal court or that the payment view is the full docket.
Use the exact citation number when possible. A recent ticket can take time to enter the system. If it does not appear, use MyCase and call the issuing court. Paying and contesting are different choices with legal effects, so follow the notice and current court instructions rather than a legacy town route.
The state payment tool can offer a plea, deferral when eligible, payment, and an optional copy only when the ticket and court support those controls. Fees display during the transaction. Do not infer eligibility from another Pendleton ticket. For a county-wide explanation of citation records, court dates, and payment routes, use the Madison County traffic ticket page.
Pendleton and Anderson Docket Routes
Anderson City Court officially links a Doxpop Chronological Case Summaries search. Pendleton has no equivalent current city-linked vendor route in the reviewed sources. That contrast matters: Doxpop should not be treated as a universal municipal search for all Madison County towns.
The Doxpop search interface appears in a Pendleton-assigned capture.
The vendor image illustrates a route that Anderson links, while Pendleton searchers should follow MyCase and the active venue instead.
Where Pendleton Cases Go
A current case tied to Pendleton may appear in one of the six Madison County Circuit divisions. Those courts use prefixes 48C01 through 48C06. The county identifier is 48, C denotes Circuit Court, and the division digits identify the court. The remaining number includes the year and month, case type, and sequence.
Docket flow: Current issuing court › Madison County Unified Circuit Court when assigned › Indiana Court of Appeals when an appeal is filed.
Use Madison County case lookup for the full name and number search. Federal cases use PACER and the Southern District of Indiana instead of MyCase.
Pendleton Town Records Differ
A town-held administrative record and a court record have different custodians. A request about Pendleton government services can go to the town's current contact. A request for a CCS, filing, order, or certified trial-court record should go to the current court or Clerk.
The assigned neighboring town-services page provides a useful visual example of municipal service information that is not a court docket.
The capture reinforces the need to separate a civic services page from the judicial record search.
Mailing Pendleton Docket Requests
When a public document is not remote, contact the Madison County Clerk at 765-641-9443. The counter is Room 213 at 16 East 9th Street, Anderson, Indiana 46016. Mail requests go to PO Box 1277, Anderson, IN 46015.
State the current or legacy case number, court, caption, approximate year, exact filing or order, and ordinary or certified-copy need. Include return contact information and ask whether a self-addressed envelope is required. Confirm page count, certification, postage, payment form, and turnaround before sending payment. The statewide references are $1 per page and $1 per certificate under seal, while local transaction details require confirmation.
A public terminal is defined in Indiana's e-filing guidance, but no Pendleton terminal or Madison County terminal location was published in the reviewed material. Ask the Clerk where public access is available during building hours. A transcript is ordered from the court reporter, not treated as a routine Clerk docket copy. Current financial balances should also be confirmed with the Clerk because online amounts can be stale.
Pendleton Docket History Clues
Historical context can explain why a record contains an old agency or court reference, but it cannot determine the active venue by itself. Converted Odyssey data may preserve prior identifiers and older event rows. Search the number as recorded and ask the Clerk to connect the legacy file.
The Madison County prosecutor history source appears in the last assigned capture.
The history provides county context without converting an old Pendleton identifier into a current court.
Pendleton Court Record Access Rules
Indiana Rule 4 starts with public access to court records unless Rule 5, another law, or a court order excludes the material. Rule 5 covers confidential categories, protected identifiers, redaction, and document-level exclusions. A missing Pendleton result can also reflect spelling, the wrong court, a legacy code, or incomplete digitization.
Key rules:
Indiana Access Rule 4 states the public-access principle.
Indiana Access Rule 5 identifies confidential and excluded material.
Indiana Access Rule 9 provides a verified process for seeking excluded records.
Rule 9 is not a basic public-record request form. It can involve notice, response, a hearing, and a written order. Begin with a precise Clerk request for an existing public record.
